6. Your Views on Mainstream Music

Aku ada rahsia nak bagitahu. Sebenarnya aku start dengar radio secara serious waktu umur aku 13 tahun. Waktu tu kejutan budaya yang teramat, tak boleh digambarkan dengan kata-kata. HAHA. Yelah, konon dah masuk sekolah menengah, kena lah berlagak macam budak remaja yang suka dengar radio dan tahu berita-berita hiburan kan?

Back then I started listening to Hitz.fm. Tapi tak pernah cuba beli album. My first and the only album that I bought is TOO PHAT - REBIRTH TO REALITY. And I never regret buying the album, because it's AWESOME!! Too Phat kot, sah-sah lah gempak uols.

Tapi sebenarnya, my view on mainstream music ni, tak ada apa nak view pun. Aku tak ada rasa hasad dengki or menyampah pun dengan mainstream music ni. Tak kira lah in Malaysia or internationally speaking, but I think music is music regardless of their streams all that matters is the music itself, right?

Legends dulu pun bukan music diorang mainstream jugak ke?

Anyways, aku sebenarnya agak confuse dengan the term mainstream ni. For me, mainstream music ni is music  yang masuk radio, yang dapat liputan akhbar, yang press kejar diorang 24 jam. So kalau ikutkan, the best music (the legends eg. Elvis Presley, Kiss, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Sharifah Aini) semuanya joined and certain comes from mainstream lah kan? Am I not right? So why the hate? Sama je mainstream je underground ke, indie ke, for me just enjoy them all.

So, here the song I love the most. Tapi I (I pulak dah) tak tahu lah whether it's mainstream or not since I just listen to eveything that my ear loves.

This band is called Aqualung, the vocalist is Matt Hales, and the song is Cinderella. This song is beautiful. The only song I wish I will not grow tired of.
